It takes Tamagawa a good three seconds to process first that the revered captain of Seigaku had actually stopped to talk to him, and then what the actual words were. He realizes he is the only one still standing at the foot of the hill. This seems bad.
"Yes!" He belatedly calls, and hefts his things to confirm they're secure on his back before racing to catch up. Yukimura has left him in the dust, along with most of the rest of the pack as he makes excellent time alongside Tezuka to join Yanagi at the head of the group. Wow.
The Seigaku that initially asked where this Inui guy was seems to be near the tail with Marui (who's curiously unburdened), Jackal (who's carrying over twice the load of the others), and Akaya. Tamagawa can't let himself be down at the end. He's supposed to be the next captain!
Finally, all that nervous energy has an outlet. He burns through it and pushes past the four in the back, chasing the backs of Yukimura and Tezuka with all his might.
