Now that they're deboarding, the nervous energy he's been storing up ever since he mustered the courage to ask Yukimura for this experience feels ready to explode. Yukimura's initial expression when Tamagawa raised the idea had not been promising, looking more like he suddenly had a bad taste in his mouth, and Tamagawa very nearly backed down then and there. His captain responded gracefully, however, agreeing with the merits and promising to look into it.

It seemed miracle enough that Seigaku as a team had liked the idea. The true wonder was Tezuka himself agreeing to rejoin the team he'd led to this year's National Champions from his budding career as a professional. To help all of them one final time.

It's honestly overwhelming. Of course, he's going to help Seigaku. But simply knowing he found value enough in the invitation to make time for it, knowing that maybe, if there was a spare moment, Tamagawa might be able to learn more about his journey as a captain, and what he attributed their successes to...

The altitude has brought the temperature from nippy to chilly. Patches of snow speckle the mountaintop. It's pretty, really, and the cold will feel good once they're active. He does notice that the bus seems to be leaving them some distance from any cabin, but reasons that the terrain may not be suitable for it to travel the rest of the way. Yukimura doesn't look like anything is amiss in his eyes, so Tamagawa trusts that all is in order. They claim their belongings from the luggage bins and sort themselves into small groups. Tamagawa is slightly dismayed to realize it happened so organically for everyone else. He's the odd one out here, isn't he?

At least he is until Yukimura himself joins his side and speaks.

"Everyone," Rikkai's captain calls, effortlessly commanding the group's attention (how does he do that?). "Thank you for being here. The next two weeks are an unexpected treat as we wind down the school year. Seigaku has graciously agreed to join us in this endeavor to train, play our final matches together, and transition the clubs to next year's leaders. A special training menu has been put together for making the most of this experience; details will be available later. For now, it seems we have some backpacking to do before we reach the cabin."

"....Where's Inui?" One of the Seigaku players asked.

"Ahhhh! He's right, he's not here," said another, this one with red hair that flipped out at the ears.

"Inui is waiting at the top," Yukimura clarified, looking much too pleased that this absence had been noticed. "He's helping with our first training exercise."

The collective dread that seemed to ripple through Seigaku at that revelation was impressive, if confusing. What was this about?

Yukimura's pleasure and aura of polite mischief grew twice over as he smiled and added, "I suggest you make haste up the trail to the cabin," sending several of the players into a sudden, panicked dash uphill.
