He doesn't hear the hustle and bustle of the town, so something is wrong. He collects a few knives and a bow and quiver from the wagon's supplies, checks the back of the wagon, and, seeing no one, climbs up top where he'll be harder to notice and harder to attack. Quietly, he crawls across the top of the wagon towards the front, listening to the exchange as he does.
